Vigilant Video announces the release of CarDetector 3.0 Mobile LPR Edition (CDM), technology with mobile License Plate Recognition (LPR) for moving patrol cars. Image enhancement filters from mobile video cameras extract plate images and initiates adaptive optical character recognition (AOCR) engines to ensure correct LPR results. "In-car" audio/visual alarms are automatically triggered based on LPR "hot-list" matches associated with stolen autos and other criminal license plate databases. The multi-camera system induces a force multiplier on enforcement effectiveness as police cruisers automatically detect stolen or suspect cars by driving on the highway or while passing through a parking lot. Available for existing cruiser laptops or the Vigilant Video Mini-PC.
